At GBA, we recognize the importance of promoting environmentally responsible, economically sound, and healthy places in which to live and work, from our corporate offices and public facilities to our changing neighborhoods and growing communities.

While each client’s needs and expectations differ, we believe that it is our responsibility to inform them of the wide range of sustainable design alternatives available, balancing their goals for sustainability with the economic parameters of the project. For each project, we strive for the triple bottom line.

To assist owners in achieving these goals, GBA formed FocusGreen. Our FocusGreen Team is a multi-disciplinary team of LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP) that includes architects, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, land surveyors, environmental specialists, traffic and transportation engineers, and commissioning specialists.

In addition, a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) by the Association of Energy Engineers is on staff to conduct building energy audits. Further, as the ENERGY STAR program emerges, interest is growing with our clients and project managers. Other design solutions are incorporating pilot program criteria set forth by The Sustainable Sites Initiative.
