Tawn Nugent Named Associate by GBA
Lenexa, Kan. (Aug. 5, 2011) – Tawn Nugent has been named an Associate by GBA Architects and Engineers, a leading consulting firm with headquarters here. A member of the firm’s Transportation Group, Nugent serves as project manager and lead engineer on many highway, interchange, street, and bridge studies and improvement projects. She has taken a leadership role on a number of high-profile projects in the Kansas City Metro Area, including improvements to an eight-mile segment of Missouri Route 150 in Jackson County that encompasses the recently completed interchange of Route 150 with US-71 Highway and replacement of the Broadway Bridge over I-670 in downtown Kansas City, Mo., an important link to the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts now under construction.
Nugent earned a Master’s degree in engineering management from the University of Kansas in 2004 and a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University in 1995. She is a registered professional engineer in the states of Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois. Nugent is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), ACEC Kansas, the American Public Works Association (APWA), National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), and Kansas Society of Professional Engineers (KSPE). Nugent is a graduate of the 2010 Leadership Overland Park program. She also serves on the Advisory Board of Heartland SPCA, a "comprehensive animal welfare solution for the Kansas City community" formed by the recent merger of Animal Haven and No More Homeless Pets KC.
