GBA Selected by Johnson County Wastewater (JCW) to Provide Consulting Engineering Services for Sewer Rehabilitation and Repair
Lenexa, Kan. (December 10, 2008) – GBA, a leading engineering and architectural firm headquartered here, announced today that the company has been selected by Johnson County Wastewater (JCW), Johnson County, Kan., to provide consulting engineering services for sewer rehabilitation and repair projects. The work will be conducted under a one-year Continued Consulting Services Contract (CCSC) – the third consecutive contract of this type awarded to GBA by the utility – with an option to renew for an additional two years.
GBA has provided JCW with consulting services for sewer rehab and repair for more than nine years. The work has included flow monitoring and modeling, I/I evaluations, system inspections, sewer rehabilitation design, and construction observation services. “JCW has initiated an asset management program designed to lower risk of system failures throughout the system,” said GBA Senior Associate and Project Manager Gary Beck, P.E. “The engineering services performed through this contract are designed to support and further that innovative program.” Under terms of the contract, specific projects will be assigned as needed throughout the year. Fees could be as high as $2 million per year depending on the number and size of project assignments authorized.
JCW serves more than 130,000 customers with more than 2,000 miles of sewer. The utility is recognized nationally for its progressive approach toward system planning, design, management, and maintenance.
