Adam Stodola Receives State Recognition as ‘Outstanding Young Engineer’ from the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers (KSPE)
Lenexa, Kan. (August 7, 2008) – Adam Stodola has been recognized as the 2008 Outstanding Young Engineer by the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers (KSPE). Stodola is a highway engineer for George Butler Associates, Inc. (GBA), a leading engineering and architectural firm here. The award recognizes his exceptional service to the organization and the profession. Earlier this year Stodola was named 2008 Outstanding Young Engineer by the Eastern Chapter of KSPE.
An active member of KSPE since 2001, Stodola currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Eastern Chapter and effective August 1, became the chapter’s vice president for 2008/2009. His involvement in KSPE also includes committee chairmanships, membership on state committees, and community outreach through the organization's MathCounts program. Stodola is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and past member of NSPE’s National Young Engineers Advisory Council. He was recognized by KSPE as Outstanding Engineer Intern of the Year in 2003.
Stodola, who joined GBA in 2005, is an engineer with GBA’s Highways and Streets Group where he provides planning and design for highway, interchange, and roadway projects for state and local agencies. Prior to joining GBA, he was with KDOT.
Stodola holds a BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska and is working towards a Masters in Engineering Management from the University of Kansas.
He lives in Olathe, Kan.
