Sprint PCS (Electrical)

Sprint PCS selected GBA to provide all of the site and building engineering and commissioning services for their central monitoring of this nationwide telecommunications network. These facilities include the Technology Integration Laboratory (TIL) and Network Operations Control Center (NOCC) facility.

Two 60-ton dx rooftop air handling units serve the NOCC and adjacent spaces. Two 100-ton air-cooled chillers and seven 25-ton computer room air conditioning units provide conditioning of the technology laboratory. All heating is electric resistance reheat. Electrically, the TIL/NOCC is served by 3000A 480-volt switchgear, a 1250kW diesel engine generator, and a 300kVA uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with 15-minute, sealed, rack-mounted batteries.

GBA provided mechanical, electrical, structural, plumbing, and fire protection systems design.
