Spill Prevention Control and Counterneasures (SPCC) Plans
SPCC Plans are the primary planning document used by the EPA to ensure that petroleum spills from Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) facilities don't reach the Naion's waterways.
The Plan identifies engineering design and construction methods to prevent the release of petroleum spills such as:
Building secondary containment around ASTs, and
Providing corrosion control measures, including pressure testing of tanks storing petroleum products.
New EPA regulations will require that SPCC Plans for larger facilities be reviewed by a Professional Engineer every five years.
