GBA provided planning and civil engineering design services for this 310-acre planned business park in Lenexa, Kansas. Located at the southwest corner of I-35 and College Boulevard, the $150 million project will ultimately contain about 3.5 million square feet of space located in six “super blocks” of 40 to 60 acres each, with typical buildings ranging from 40,000 to 100,000 square feet and from one to three stories.
Business park amenities include nine lakes that are surrounded by park land and a 2-1/2-mile jogging trail. The lakes were designed for storm water detention. Landscaping included the planting of thousands of trees along interior streets and throughout parks and common grounds. Site preparation for the 200-acre first phase of the two-phase development was completed for $15 million with the second-phase design and engineering services following.
GBA provided planning and civil engineering services, including design of site grading, streets, storm and sanitary sewers, and utilities. The firm also provided zoning and land planning, construction surveying, landscape planning, and resident construction inspection services.
