Foodbrands’ warehouse/freezer includes more than 400,000 sf of storage space and a 30,000-sf, two-story office at the main entrance. Freezer space is cooled to -10 degrees F and is served by cool docks on both the east and west sides of the building that are maintained at 34 to 36 degrees F. A -20 degree F freezer blast cell is also part of the design.
The building incorporates decorative 54-ft tilt-up concrete wall panels with insulated freezer wall panels behind. A high-reflectance, fully adhered insulated membrane roof was specially designed as an energy-efficient, “cool roof” design.
GBA was awarded the 2001 Associated Builders and Contractors “Excellence in Construction - Industrial Project of the Year” Presidential Award upon completion of this unique design-build project.
