GBA provided all site/civil engineering and environmental design services for the new Sprint World Headquarters Campus, which is located on a 200-acre site in Overland Park, Kansas. The campus encompasses 22 buildings consisting of 3.9 million square feet of office space and 16 covered parking garages. GBA’s work included street and storm sewer design for 12,000 linear feet of private roadways, sanitary sewer design (7,000 lf), rough grading (1 million CY), site layout, and finish grading. The firm also provided construction staking for all components of the project and coordination and as-built documentation for all utilities.
The private development required the design and construction of public and private storm drainage improvements that impacted wetlands and streams under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Kansas Department of Agriculture, Division of Water Resources (DWR). GBA provided Section 404 wetland permitting, wetland mitigation and design, and DWR and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permitting.
