Lifestyle Centers
Plans for lifestyle centers often feature a "Main Street" atmosphere incorporating a combination of small shops and sidewalk cafes with large anchor retail and entertainment. Additional features often include freestanding commercial, restaurants, and hotel properties. GBA has been responsible for land planning and civil engineering for multiple lifestyle center designs whose project goals were to:
- Incorporate “main street” characteristics into a mix of retail users including three large anchors
- Achieve “walkable” layouts from store to store with active street life environments
- Allow flexibility for a potential variety of tenants
- Set projects apart from other retail development with distinct street features and festive architectural treatments
- Design “pad site” clusters into “city block” layouts with walkable street frontages and access to all tenants
- Utilize detention as lake/amenities
- Draw on these design features to achieve greater success for tenants
