An 18-hole championship course, which has already hosted two Senior PGA tournaments since opening in 1990, is the centerpiece of this prestigious residential development located just outside the Kansas City, Missouri, city limits. The 1,300-acre upscale development includes about 800 home sites ranging in size from one-half acre to two acres.
In addition to the championship golf course, amenities include the 110-acre lake for which the development is named, a 25,000-sf clubhouse of native stone which affords a panoramic view of the golf course, tennis and swimming facilities, numerous mini-parks, softball and soccer fields, and nature trails for hiking and jogging. The natural, tree-covered setting was preserved to enhance the quiet residential environment.
GBA provided landscaping and site engineering services on the project, including design of streets, parking areas, storm and sanitary sewers, sewage treatment, and utilities. The firm also designed the golf course water features such as dams, spillways, and storm water structures, and marina dock retaining walls and tie downs.
