Route MM over I-44

Lebanon, Missouri

Less than 10 months after a tractor-trailer slammed into an aging 2-lane bridge, a new 6-lane bridge was in its place. By the time the truck stopped it had displaced the steel girders in excess of six ft. Several of the girders were yanked off of the abutment and the bridge was immediately closed to traffic. GBA worked closely with MoDOT to complete the emergency bridge design and interchange improvements at Interstate 44 business loop and Route MM in Lebanon, Missouri.

“Everyone in Lebanon appreciates the speed and efficiency that marked this project. The bridge got replaced bigger and better, in a shorter time and for less money than was anticipated. Everybody wins,” said Mayor Stanley “Bud” Allen.

GBA’s full-service staff of highway, traffic, and structural engineers completed the bridge design and interchange modifications in less than 12 weeks, a process that normally takes nearly a year and a half. The new Route MM bridge is 254 ft. long. Its six-lane design is wide enough to support area growth for the next 30 years.
