Gretna Road Bridge

Branson, Missouri

Sweeping gracefully over the Roark Valley in the rolling hills of Branson, the Gretna Road Bridge is an important link between two burgeoning areas in this popular tourist destination. The 760-ft-long, 5-lane structure links Branson Meadows, a 340-acre commercial and residential development, and the Branson strip.

GBA provided engineering and surveying services on the bridge project, including traffic analysis, floodplain analysis and FEMA permitting, wetlands delineation, street lighting design, and design of signalization and geometrics at the intersection of Gretna Road and Roark Valley Road.

GBA completed every facet of the design in less than 5 months. "Everyone was extremely cooperative, making the necessary adjustments and sacrifices to successfully complete the work," said Ed Bollin, Project Manager. To expedite the project, GBA took the initiative and prepared preliminary roadway plans for two consulting design firms working at each end of the bridge. Both firms used the plans as the basis for their final designs. Within the five-month period, GBA also worked closely with the Union Pacific and Missouri Northern Arkansas railroads to obtain approval to span their tracks.
