US-36
Caldwell County, Missouri
The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) selected GBA to design improvements to approximately 11 miles of Route 36 in Caldwell County. The work involved improving the existing 2-lane roadway to a 4-lane divided highway by adding a 2-lane section to the north of the existing roadway. Two bridges, one over Long Branch Creek and the other over Brushy Creek, and three large box structures were included in the project.
The project has improved the highway to carry traffic more safely by conforming to current AASHTO standards. The existing section of Route 36 was originally designed and built in the 1960s in accordance with standards of the time. GBA provided comprehensive civil, structural, and traffic engineering design and land surveying services on the project.
