GBA provided all engineering design services for a 3.5-mile segment of Renner Boulevard in Lenexa, Kansas, including easement and right-of-way documentation, alignment studies, utility coordination, and storm drainage analysis and design. GBA also developed the Master Landscape Plan for this portion of the boulevard, and provided design of street lighting and traffic signalization.
Renner Boulevard has created an attractive and functional setting for new and existing developments. As development continues and traffic volume increases, the roadway can be expanded to six lanes, with left-turn lanes where needed.
Roadway elevations were controlled by an existing 42-inch water main, while roadway location was controlled by a 26-inch, high-pressure gas main. The divided roadway measures 105 ft back-to-back with a 49-foot-wide median. Each two-lane section is 28 ft wide. The overall right-of-way is 120 ft wide. The project also included 2 RCB culverts, a double 8 ft by 6 ft and a double 10 ft by 8 ft.
