GBA Awarded the MO/KS ACPA Award for US 169 Neosho/Allen Counties Project

The Missouri/Kansas Chapter of the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) selected GBA, Emery Sapps & Sons, and the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) as the winner of the State Roads Category best PCC pavement constructed in 2022 award for the KDOT US-169 Neosho/Allen Counties improvement project.

This project included the study and review of improvement alternatives as well as traffic handling during construction. A discovery phase report for pavement replacement was also provided. The final reconstruction of the existing pavement and other bridge and interchange ramp improvements were included along with bearing repairs/painting, strip seal replacement, pier concrete repair, construction staging/traffic control and quantities. The GBA team also provided survey and developed alignment and right-of-way that involved supplemental topography of aerial mapping.

The ACPA Annual Awards for Excellence in Concrete Pavement are designed to honor quality concrete pavements constructed in the United States and Canada each year. The awards program encourages high-quality workmanship in every concrete pavement project and serves as a forum for sharing information about highly successful projects.
