We are excited to announce GBA design engineer, Ethan Voyles, graduated from the Water Leadership Institute program. Voyles works in the water environment group specializing in waste water collection systems. He participated in the intensive program, which included education, training, networking, and leadership development opportunities.
We were proud to sponsor Voyles when he got accepted into the competitive WEF program. “I applied because I wanted the opportunity to meet new contacts in the water industry and get to know their stories,” Voyles said. “I saw it as an opportunity to grown and learn.”
The program included monthly webcasts with topics ranging from strengths based leadership, innovation in the water industry, communication and more. The group also had two in-person meetings, the second being in Chicago at WEFTEC. “The in-person meetings were the best part. We really got to know each other,” Voyles said. The participants were separated into project groups where they wrote two papers; one over a leadership topic and another over group dynamics.
The group graduated with an in-depth knowledge of leadership and a new network of peers. “The biggest benefit was networking,” Voyles said. “It was great being able to meet a lot of awesome people that are diverse in age, geographically, career stage and industry.”
