GBA named Employer of the Year by WTS-KC

GBA is honored to be named Employer of the Year by the Kansas City chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS-KC)!

Each year, WTS-KC honors exceptional women, members, employers and diversity leaders who exemplify the WTS mission of equality and access for women working in the transportation industry.

GBA is a strong supporter of women in the transportation industry as well as women in all disciplines. With an emphasis on incredible culture and an environment that is conducive to working parents and flexibility in schedule, GBA rises to the top.

The Women’s Empowerment Network, a GBA committee designed to provide resources for all levels and disciplines of female staff and is one example of how GBA values the importance of women at work.  Topics such as leadership, self-improvement, networking and work/life balance are discussed monthly.

GBA’s transportation team is 23% women with an overall technical staff of 20% women. There are three women who serve on the Corporate Leadership Team, which brings that ratio of males and females to 3:1, up from zero a few years ago.

Having a diverse leadership team not only strengthens the organization but also the communities and clients that GBA serves.
